I do not have a receiving account yet — what I will need

What you will get

Reaching the moment of connecting without discovering halfway through that a document is missing.

The receiving account is created at Stripe, not at EduPay. We never ask for bank details on any screen, and we cannot create that account for you — it belongs to your school, in your school's name.

Where to start

On the Integrations › Payment Gateway screen, while there is no connection, there are two useful links:

  • Create a free Stripe account — opens the sign-up.
  • View Stripe fees — opens the pricing table.

Both disappear once the connection is made, so use them now.

You can also do it the other way round: click Connect Stripe account and, on Stripe's screen, choose to create a new account. It comes to the same thing.

What to have ready

Gather these before sitting down to do it:

  • The school's tax ID (or your own, if the school is an individual).
  • Legal name and address exactly as registered for the company.
  • Bank account details for the account that will receive, under the same tax ID.
  • An identity document for whoever legally answers for the school.
  • A phone number and email address you can access right then — confirmation comes through them.

How long it takes

The sign-up itself takes a few minutes. Verification is what varies: sometimes it clears immediately, sometimes it takes a few days, and it is not unusual for an extra document to be requested afterwards.

Start with this, not last. It is the only stage of EduPay setup that does not depend on you — and the only one that can hold up the start of billing.

While verification is pending

You can connect the account as soon as it exists, even before it is fully verified. The connection is recorded, and the Accepted payment methods box shows what is already enabled.

While a method shows a ✗, it is not issued. Once verification finishes, click Refresh, next to Verified via Stripe API, and the screen shows the new situation.

Meanwhile, the school does not stop

Without the account ready, you can already register students, build cohorts, create enrollments and generate contracts. Installments are created normally and wait. And if a student pays by transfer in that period, someone at the school records the payment by hand.

If something goes wrong

Verification was refused. Stripe decides that, and the reason arrives by email at the address on the account. It is usually a mismatch between the company name and the tax registration, or an unreadable document.

I created the account but EduPay still says Not configured. Creating and connecting are different things. Go back to Integrations › Payment Gateway and click Connect Stripe account.

I have more than one account and do not know which to use. Use the one under the tax ID that issues the school's invoices. Switching later is possible, but charges already issued stay tied to the old account.
