# Disconnecting the registry service

> What the school loses by disconnecting, what stays in force at the registry, and why the screen shows a count before you confirm.

## What you will achieve

Ending the school's link with the registry service knowing exactly what that
does — and, above all, what it does **not** do.

## What disconnecting does not do

**It brings no title back.** A title already sent is at the registry, following
the process there, with legal effect and cost. Disconnecting EduPay does not
interfere with that, the same way closing your browser does not cancel a
purchase.

If the intent is to stop a protest, the path is a different one: open the title
and request the cancellation **before** disconnecting. Afterwards, you lose the
button.

**It erases no history.** Titles, dates, return reasons and each one's timeline
stay stored in EduPay.

## What disconnecting does

**It stops submissions.** No new title goes out, and cancellations and resends
stop being possible.

**It stops the tracking.** EduPay stops learning what happens to the titles left
there. If the student pays at the registry, that information no longer arrives.

**The screen disappears.** **Delinquency 90+** leaves the menu, for everyone.

## The count that appears before you confirm

If there are titles in progress at the registry, the confirmation window says
**how many**. That is not decoration: it is exactly the number of processes that
will keep running with nobody on this side watching.

It is worth reading that number before confirming. If it is not zero, the right
question is: is somebody keeping an eye on those processes by another route?

## Step by step

**1. Open `Integrations › Debt protest`.**

**2. Click Disconnect.**

**3. Read the count of titles in progress**, if it appears.

**4. Tick the confirmation and click Disconnect.**

Who disconnected, and when, is recorded.

## How to know it worked

> [certo]
> The badge goes back to **Not connected**, the connect button returns and
> **Delinquency 90+** leaves the menu.

## To come back later

It is the same path as the first time: **Connect**, sign in with the
institution's account and authorise. The school loses nothing by disconnecting
and connecting again — neither history nor the days and minimum-amount settings.

## If something goes wrong

> [erro]
> **I disconnected by accident.** Just connect again. Nothing was lost, and the
> titles at the registry go back to being tracked.
>
> **I want to stop sending but keep tracking what already went.** Then do not
> disconnect. Leave the connection standing and simply send nothing — the panel
> is only a list until somebody clicks send.
>
> **The Disconnect button does not appear.** Either the account is a team
> account, or the school is not connected any more.
